Softball Roundup: Liberty High Stays Hot With Doubleheader Sweep of Linn-Mar

Class 5A ninth-ranked Liberty High remained red hot with a doubleheader sweep of Linn-Mar on Wednesday at Oak Ridge Middle School in Marion.
Liberty High won the opener 4-2 and took the nightcap to 13-12 to stretch its winning streak to five.
With the win Liberty High improved to 8-5 on the season and has now won six its last seven games.
Linn-Mar dropped to 4-8 with the losses.
Kennedy Conner went 3-for-3 to lead Liberty High in the opener while Lanie Meyer homered and drove in three runs.
Mischa Reiners had a hit and drove in a run and Brynlee Slockett had a hit and scored a run in the game-one win.
Ellie Tague earned the win for the Lightning in the opener allowing two runs on nine hits while striking out four in a complete game.
Slockett, Reiners, Ava Tague and Haley Schroeder all had two hits for Liberty High in the nightcap.
Schroeder doubled twice and drove in two runs while Tague and Reiners each drove in two runs and scored twice.
Conner had a hit and drove in a run, Meyer scored twice and drove in a run and Kinley Jones had an RBI and scored a run.
