Softball Roundup: Solon Stretches Win Streak to Four With Sweep of South Tama

Class 3A tenth-ranked Solon stretched its winning streak to four with a doubleheader sweep of South Tama on Wednesday in Tama.
Kendall Jensen struck out 10 in a five-inning no hitter in a 13-0 win in the opener and Zoe Grimm allowed just one hit in a six-inning complete game as the Spartans completed the sweep with a 18-0 win in the nightcap.
Laeni Hinkle went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI to lead Solon in the opener while Olivia Trachta was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Dillon Ostrander had two hits, scored two runs and drove in a run.
Layla Knazze had two hits and scored a run and Jensen had a triple, drove in a run and scored a run.
Solon had 18 hits in the nightcap led by Maddyn Gates who went 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI.
Avery Babbitt had two hits and drove in four runs, Izzy Frees had two hits and drove in three runs and Trachta had two hits and drove in two runs.
