The 2026 Your Prep Sports Area Girls Basketball Team

It was another memorable girls basketball season in the Your Prep Sports area.
Six area teams advanced to regional title games and Clear Creek Amana, West High and Regina all made trips to the state tournament.
The annual Your Prep Sports all-area girls basketball team honors some of the players responsible for the success of area teams this season.
This year’s 10-player team features all-state and all-conference players as well as college recruits and school record holders.
There are five repeat selections on this year’s team highlighted by Liberty High senior Natalie Ramsey and Clear Creek Amana senior Averie Lower who are both three-time all-area selections.
Lower and Ramsey are co-captains of the 2026 Your Prep Sports all-area team after both leading their teams in scoring and rebounding.
Regina sophomore Addie McLaughlin, West High senior Grace Fincham and Clear Creek Amana senior Lena Evans joins Lower and Ramsey as repeat all-area picks.

6-0, Sr., Liberty High
One of the top players in the state Ramsey capped a brilliant career with a stellar senior season in which she ranked in the top five in Class 5A in both scoring and rebounding while helping Liberty High to a 15-8 record and a spot in a regional title game.
Ramsey was one of only four players in Class 5A to average a double-double this season and was one of only three players state wide to average more than 20 points and 10 rebounds per game.
The South Dakota recruit averaged 21.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46 percent from the field.
A versatile scorer, Ramsey shot 34 percent from 3-point range and 84 percent from the free throw line while leading the Lightning with 124 made free throws and 148 attempts.
She also added 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals per game and led Liberty High with 11 blocked shots.
Ramsey was named Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division player of the year and was a first-team Class 5A all-state selection by both the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.
Over the past two seasons Ramsey had 31 double-doubles in 47 games after posting a double-double in 14 of 23 games this season.
Ramsey scored in double figures in 22 of 23 games this season, had 20 or more points in 12 games and had 30 or four points four times.
Ramsey concluded her career with 1,323 points and 648 rebounds.
*Averie Lower
6-0, Sr., Clear Creek Amana
Among the most prolific three-point shooters in state history Lower continued to cement her status as one of the state’s top all-around players with an impressive senior season in which she ranked in the top 10 in the state in scoring.
Lower ranked ninth in the state in scoring averaging 24 points per game but did far more than just score while helping the Clippers to a 20-3 record and a spot in the Class 4A state quarterfinals.
An Arizona State recruit, Lower ranked seventh in 4A in rebounding with 9.9 per game from her guard spot and also averaged 3.3 steals, 2.8 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game.
Lower was named WAMAC West Division Player of the Year and was a first-team all-state selection by both the IGCA and IPSWA after averaging career-highs in both points and rebounds as a senior.
The 6-foot Lower was as efficient as she was productive shooting 54 percent from the floor, including 43 percent from 3-point range, and 77 percent from the free throw line.
Lower ranked third in the state with 94 made 3-pointers and finished her career with 335 made 3-pointers which is the third most all-time in state history.
Lower scored in double figures 22 times in 23 games this season, had at least 20 points 15 times and had six games with 30 or more points.
She had 11 double-doubles including four straight to end her career averaging 27.7 points and 13 rebounds per game in three postseason games this season.
Grace Fincham
5-11, Sr., West High
A four-year starter Fincham posted her best season in her final year in a West High uniform averaging career-highs in points and rebounds while leading West High back to the 5A state tournament for the first time since 2021.
Fincham ranked in the top 15 in Class 5A in both scoring and rebounding during a strong senior season in which she confirmed her status as one of the state’s best all-around players.
The 5-foot-11 forward averaged 19.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while helping West High to a 17-8 record and a spot in the 5A state quarterfinals.
Fincham shot 50 percent from the floor, including 39 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line while leading the Trojans three throw makes (93) and attempts (117).
A Drake signee, Fincham scored in double figures in all 25 games this season posting nine double-doubles and 11 games with 20 or more points.
Fincham also averaged 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
A unanimous MVC Mississippi Division first team selection, Fincham earned second-team all-state honors from both the IGCA and IPSWA.
Fincham closed her career with 1,413 points and 648 rebounds.
Addie McLaughlin
5-5, Soph., Regina
McLaughlin followed up an impressive debut season with an even better sophomore campaign while leading Regina back to the Class 2A state tournament.
The standout sophomore point guard filled the state sheet as well as any player in the state this season leading Regina in points, assists and steals and ranked second on the team in rebounds while helping the Regals to a 19-6 record and a spot in the 2A state quarterfinals.
McLaughlin was the lone player in the state this season to average at least 20 points and six assists per game as she ranked in the top 15 in the state in both categories.
The 5-foot-5 McLaughlin ranked 15th in the state in scoring at 22.1 points per game and sixth in assists with 6.1 per game.
McLaughlin shot 47 percent from the floor including 35 percent from 3-point range and 72 percent from the free throw line and also averaged 6.2 rebounds and 4.7 steals per game.
The River Valley Conference South Division Player of the Year, McLaughlin earned first-team all-state honors from both the IGCA and the IPSWA.
McLaughlin scored in double figures in all 25 games this season and had 20 or more points 15 times.
She had seven double-doubles and had two triple doubles this season.
In her first two seasons McLaughlin has racked up 996 points, 298 assists and 261 rebounds.
Tessa Driscoll
5-6, Sr., City High
A four-year starter for the Little Hawks, Driscoll capped an impressive career with a strong senior season in which she led City High in points, assists and steals per game.
Driscoll averaged 12.7 points, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game while helping lead City High to a 17-7 record and a Class 5A regional title game appearance.
The 5-foot-6 Driscoll led the Little Hawks with 47 made 3-pointers while shooting 32 percent from beyond the 3-point line and shot 69 percent from the free throw line while leading the team in free throw makes (58) and attempts (84).
Driscoll was a MVC Valley Division first team selection and earned third-team Class 5A all-state honors from both the IGCA and the IPSWA after helping City High to its highest win total since 2022.
A St. Thomas recruit, Driscoll also averaged a team-high 5.2 rebounds per game.
Driscoll closed her career with 1,071 points, 315 rebounds and 257 assists.
Tenley Levin
6-0, Fr., Solon
One of the top freshmen in the state Levin posted an impressive debut season ranking in the top 15 in Class 4A in both scoring and rebounding.
Levin led Solon with 18.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots per game while helping the Spartans to a 15-8 record and a regional title game appearance.
The 18.5 points per game for Levin was the most by any freshmen in the state this season and her 8.6 rebounds per game ranked second statewide among freshmen.
Levin scored in double figures in all 23 games this season and had eight games with 20 or more points including a career-best 30 in a win over Independence.
A unanimous WAMAC East Division first team selection, Levin had nine double-doubles this season and also averaged 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
Levin earned first-team all-state honors from the IGCA and was a second-team Class 4A all-state pick by the IPSWA.
Lena Evans
5-8, Sr., Clear Creek Amana
Evans continued to cement her status as one of the top all-around players in Class 4A with a strong senior season in which she averaged career-highs in points, rebounds, assists and steals.
The 5-foot-8 Evans averaged 17.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while helping Clear Creek Amana to a 20-3 record and a Class 4A state tournament berth.
A Doane College recruit, Evans shot 43 percent from the floor, including 29 percent from 3-point range, and 72 percent from the free throw line while averaging a career-best 17.6 points per game.
Evans was a unanimous WAMAC West Division first team pick and earned second-team all-state honors from both the IGCA and the IPSWA.
Among the best all-around players in Class 4A Evans led Clear Creek Amana with 4.2 steals and 3.3 assists per game.
Delainey Durr
5-7, Sr., Solon
Durr had the best season of her career as a senior averaging career-highs in points, rebounds, assists and steals while helping Solon to a 15-8 record and a spot in a Class 4A regional title game.
The 5-foot-7 guard ranked second on the team in scoring with 15.1 points per game on her way to being a unanimous WAMAC East Division first-team pick.
Durr did it all this season while helping the Spartans return to a regional title game.
She led Solon with 3.1 assists and 2.8 steals per game and had a team-high 49 made 3-pointers while also averaged 4.6 rebounds per game
A third-team Class 4A all-state pick by both the IGCA and IPSWA, Durr shot 33 percent from 3-point range and 77 percent from the free throw line.
Durr scored in double figures in 20 of 23 games this season including four games with 20 or more points.
Abby Neumiller
6-0, Sr., West High
The emergence of Neumiller as one of the top shooters in Class 5A played a key role in West High returning to the state tournament for the first time since 2021.
Neumiller ranked fourth in Class 5A with 66 made 3-pointers and averaged career-highs in points, rebounds and assists per game while helping West High to a 17-8 record and a spot in the 5A state quarterfinals.
A MVC Mississippi Division first team pick, Neumiller shot 40 percent from 3-point range while knocking down a career-best 66 triples.
Neumiller averaged 10 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game as a senior while shooting 38 percent from the floor and 63 percent from the free throw line.
Kaitlin Loria
5-10, Jr., City High
Already a three-year starter, Loria put together a third consecutive impressive season while helping lead City High to 17 wins and a spot in a Class 5A regional title game.
Loria averaged 11 points and a career-best 6.8 rebounds per game this season to help City High to a 17-7 record.
The 5-foot-10 forward shot 44 percent from the floor, including 29 percent from 3-point range, and 66 percent from the free throw line.
A MVC Valley Division second team selection, Loria averaged 1.5 assists and .8 steals per game this season.
In the first three seasons of her career Loria has scored 821 points and grabbed 457 rebounds.
