Class 3A No. 15 Western Dubuque defeated fifth-ranked West High 38-34 in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet on Thursday in Epworth.

Diego Robertty, Hugo Hughes, Owen Smock, Alexander Pierce, Campbell Janis and Kaden Stitt all posted wins for West High on Thursday.

Hughes and Pierce won by forfeit at 120 and 132 pounds while Robertty posted a first-period pin over Porter Steffen at 113 pounds and Smock won a 19-4 tech fall over Noah Habel at 126 pounds.

Janis pinned Noah Nickol in 1:00 at 175 pounds and Stitt won a 16-0 tech fall over Carter Dietz at 285 pounds.
