Flori Gembo
Former Liberty High standout and current Wartburg sophomore Flori Gembo had a hat trick to lead the Knights to a 5-2 win over the University of Dubuque on Wednesday in Waverly.
The three goals were a career-high for Gembo who leads Wartburg with six goals on the season.
Gembo had six goals last season and has matched that scoring output this fall in 11 games while helping the Knights to a 4-6-1 record including a 2-1 mark in American Rivers Conference play.
Christian Janis
West High graduate and current Sioux Falls junior wide receiver had a touchdown to help the Cougars to a 35-14 win over Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday in Marshall, Minnesota.
Janis had two receptions for 49 yards including a 43-yard touchdown grab in the win as Sioux Falls improved to 4-3 on the season
On the season the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Janis has caught 10 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns.
Jade Roghair
West High graduate and current Minnesota junior Jade Roghair had a strong start to the season while helping the Golden Gophers to wins over Nebraska and South Dakota in a triple dual on Friday in Minneapolis.
Roghair won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:49.96 and added a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:55.34 to help Minnesota to a pair of wins.
In her victory in the 200 freestyle Roghair finished more than a full second in front of runner-up Mina Kaljevic of Minnesota.
Roghair was also part of a Minnesota 200 medley relay team that placed fourth in 1:45.23.
