State Semifinalist Regina Has Two Players Named to IGCA All-State Team

A pair of players that played key roles in helping Regina pick up its first state tournament win since 2017 last week were honored with some impressive individual awards on Monday.
Regina guards Morgan Miller and Addie McLaughlin each earned all-state honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association when the organization released its postseason awards on Monday.
Miller and McLaughlin were each pivotal pieces of a Regina team that went 24-2 and advanced to the Class 2A state semifinals.
The two Regina standouts highlight a list of five area players to earn spots on the IGCA all-state teams.
McLaughlin and Miller join Liberty High junior Natalie Ramsey and West High junior Grace Fincham and Clear Creek Amana junior Averie Lower as ICGA all-state picks.
Miller was a three-time IGCA all-state selection earning first-team honors in Class 2A for the second consecutive season following a stellar senior campaign.
The 5-foot-6 Miller averaged 19.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.4 steals per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor including 39 percent from 3-point range.
A 5-foot-5 freshman, McLaughlin was named to the Class 2A second team after an impressive debut season.
McLaughlin ranked second on the team behind Miller in scoring at 17 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range.
McLaughlin led Regina with 5.6 assists per game and grabbed 4.1 rebounds and added 4.1 steals per game.
Lower was a first-team all-state selection in Class 4A after earning second-team honors a year ago.
The 6-foot junior guard averaged 22.5 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor, including 42 percent from 3-point range, and 85 percent from the free throw line.
Lower added 9.3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.9 steals per game while helping Clear Creek Amana to a 15-8 record and a spot in Class 4A regional title game.
Ramsey earned second team honors in Class 5A after helping Liberty High to a 17-7 record and the first state tournament appearance in program history.
The 6-foot Ramsey averaged a double-double with 22.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 84 percent from the free throw line.
Ramsey averaged 2 steals, 1.5 assists and 1 blocked shot per game.
Fincham was named to the 5A second-team after earning third-team honors last season.
The junior forward averaged 16 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while helping West High to a 15-9 record and a 5A regional final appearance.
Fincham shot 49 percent from the floor and 65 percent from the free throw line while averaging 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
