Ben Swails
Clear Creek Amana graduate and current Iowa sophomore infielder Ben Swails homered in back-to-back games to help Iowa win a three-game series at Rutgers over the weekend.
Swails hit a solo home run in a 16-0 win over Rutgers on Saturday and added a three-run homer in a 12-6 win in the series finale on Sunday.
On the season Swails is hitting .389 with two home runs, five RBI and five runs scored while helping the Hawkeyes to a 7-7 overall record and a 2-2 mark in Big 10 play.
Hunter Garvin
Former West High standout and current Stanford sophomore Hunter Garvin became the first Stanford wrestler to win an individual title at the ACC tournament claiming the 165-pound title on Sunday in Durham, North Carolina.
The top seed at 165 pounds, Garvin won an 11-1 major decision over Mac Church of Virginia Tech in the semifinals and won a 5-1 decision over second-seeded Nick Hamilton of Virginia in the title match.
Garvin is now 19-6 on the season and has won 12 consecutive matches.
Masen Miller
Regina graduate and current North Dakota State senior guard Masen Miller earned honorable mention all-Summit League honors when the league announced its postseason awards last week.
Miller ranked third on the team in scoring at 10.6 points per game to go with 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contesting while helping the Bison to a 21-11 record.
The 6-foot-2 Miller ranks third in the NCAA in 3-point percentage at 45.7 percent from beyond the arc and led the Sumit League with 3.1 made 3-pointers per game and ranked third in the league in minutes played.
