Liberty High Junior Ramsey Headlines Area IPSWA All-State Girls Basketball Selections

Natalie Ramsey helped Liberty High to the best season in program history this season capped by the first ever trip to the state tournament last week.
On Tuesday Ramsey picked up an impressive individual accolade after helping the Lightning reach new levels of team success.
Ramsey was named first-team all-state by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association when the organization released its postseason awards on Tuesday.
A 6-foot junior, Ramsey was one of only two players in Class 5A to average a double-double on the season.
Ramsey averaged 22.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while helping Liberty High to a program-record 17 wins and a spot in the Class 5A quarterfinals.
Ramsey averaged two steals, 1.5 assists and 1 blocked shot per game and shot 49 percent from the floor and 84 percent from the free throw line while leading the Lightning in free throws made and free throws attempted.
West High junior Grace Fincham was a third-team selection in Class 5A after helping the Trojans to a 15-9 record and a spot in a regional title game.
Fincham led West High in scoring (16), rebounding (7.9) and steals (1.8) while shooting 49 percent from the field.
The 5-foot-11 Fincham also ranked second on the team with 3.2 assists per game.
Clear Creek Amana and Regina each had a pair of players earn all-state honors from the IPSWA.
The Regina guard duo of Morgan Miller and Addie McLaughlin each were named to the Class 2A first team after helping the Regals to a 24-2 record and a spot in the Class 2A semifinals.
Miller, a 5-foot-6 senior, led Regina with 19.8 points per game to go with 5.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.4 steals per game.
A Truman State recruit, Miller shot 55 percent from the floor, including 39 percent from 3-point range and 79 percent from the free throw line.
McLaughlin also earned first-team all-state honors following a stellar freshman season in which she averaged 17 points, 5.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 steals per game.
The 5-foot-5 McLaughlin shot 50 percent from the floor, including 39 percent from 3-point range and 78 percent from the free throw line.
Clear Creek Amana junior Averie Lower earned first-team all-state honors in Class 4A while teammate Lena Evans was named to the 4A third-team after helping the Clippers to a 15-8 record and a 4A regional title appearance.
Lower averaged 22.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor including 42 percent from 3-point range.
The 6-foot Lower also averaged 3 assists, 2.9 steals and .9 blocked shots per game and shot 85 percent from the free throw line.
Evans ranked second on the team with 17.4 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor and 77 percent from the free throw line.
Evans also averaged 4.9 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 2.6 assists per game.
