Baseball Roundup: Liberty High Bounces Back With Non-conference Win Over Clinton

Liberty High bounced back from a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Cedar Rapids Xavier on Tuesday with a 10-4 win over Clinton in a non-conference contest on Wednesday in North Liberty.
After scoring two total runs in a pair of losses against Xavier on Tuesday the Lightning hammered out 10 hits and scored double digit runs for the fourth time this season.
Liberty High improved to 5-7 on the season with the win while Clinton dropped to 2-4.
Boyd Skelley earned the win for Liberty High allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out eight and walking one in five innings.
Six different Liberty High players had a hit on Wednesday led by Luke Meyers who went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in a run.
Hayden Vickroy went 2-for-3 with three RBI and scored a run and Jack Turgasen had a hit and drove in two runs.
Jackson Khamphilanouvong scored three runs and drove in two runs for the Lightning while Ian Gates had two hits and scored two runs.
Evan Chandler had a hit and scored a run, Luke Ramsey drove in a run and Jack Funke scored a run.
