Class 5A top-ranked Liberty High looked every bit like a number one ranked team in a season-opening sweep of Cedar Rapids Washington on Tuesday.

Cassidy Hartman had a match-high 16 kills and Shelby Kimm added seven as Liberty High swept the Warriors 25-9, 25-20, 25-8 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division contest in Cedar Rapids.

Freshman Asta Hildebrand had five kills, nine assists and seven digs for Liberty High while Mariah Rollins had a team-high 12 assists and three ace serves in the win.

Sam Harvey added three kills and a block while Hartman and Kimm each had two blocks and Nessa Hardaway had four blocks.

Oliva Davenport led the Lightning with eight digs.
