Liberty High hammered 27 hits and scored 18 runs while sweeping Dubuque Wahlert in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division doubleheader on Monday in Dubuque.

Class 5A tenth-ranked Liberty High won the opener 11-0 in five innings and took the nightcap 7-1 pushing its win streak to six and  improving to 9-3 on the season and 7-1 in MVC play.

Dubuque Wahlert dropped to 0-11 and 0-10 in conference play.

Kara Maiers struck out 13 in a two-hit shutout in the opener as Liberty High pounded out 17 hits.

Kinsley Robertson went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI to lead the Liberty High attack while Haley Schroeder, Kennedy Daugherty and Ella McLaughlin all had three hits.

Daugherty doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run and Schroeder scored twice and drove in two runs.

McLaughlin scored twice and had an RBI while Ashlyn Geasland went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

Raquel Trolliet was 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run.

Robertson earned the win in the nightcap holding the Golden Eagles to just one run on four hits while striking out 11 in a complete game.

Eva Stewart went 2-for-4 with a home run and scored twice while Daugherty went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI and Brynlee Slockett was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

Mallory Jones, Haley Napoli and Oliva Davenport all had hits and drove in runs while Miscah Reiners doubles and scored a run.
