There were some tense moments during the doubles matches in the Mississippi Valley Conference dual between Liberty High and Waterloo West on Tuesday in North Liberty.

All three doubles matches needed a tiebreaker to determine a set.

Fortunately the Lightning had already taken the real drama out of the match with strong singles session.

Liberty High won five of six singles matches to secure the dual and swept the doubles matches on its way to an 8-1 win over Waterloo West.

The win improved Liberty High to 3-6 on the season while Waterloo West dropped to 1-8.

Ryan Bys, Paarin Rastogi, Ankur Karandiker, Carter Leick and Cooper Davenport all earned singles wins for the Lightning.
