Liberty High, City High, West High and Clear Creek Amana will all open the boys cross country season next week as ranked teams.

All four teams appeared in the preseason rankings released by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches on Monday.

Liberty High is seventh in the Class 4A rankings while City High is ninth in Class 4A and West High is No. 19.

City High finished seventh at the Class 4A state meet last season while Liberty High finished 14^th at the state meet last season.

Clear Creek Amana was ninth in the Class 3A rankings after finishing 13^th at the 3A state meet a year ago.

Top-ranked teams in the preseason rankings were West Des Moines Dowling in Class 4A, Gilbert in Class 3A, Chariton in Class 2A and Riverside in Class 1A.
