Four Your Prep Sports area teams appeared in the preseason girls cross country rankings released by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches on Monday.

Solon is third in the Class 3A rankings.
The Spartans return all seven runners from a team that finished sixth at the Class 3A state meet last season.

City High opens the season seventh in the Class 4A rankings while West High is No. 15 and Liberty High is No. 16 in the Class 4A rankings.

City High was seventh at the 4A state meet last season.

Top ranked teams in the girls preseason rankings were defending state champion Waukee Northwest in Class 4A, defending champion Pella in Class 3A, defending champion Treynor in Class 2A and Sumner-Fredericksburg in Class 1A.
