One of the catalysts of Regina’s state runner-up team has found his future football home.
Senior two-way standout Drew Greve announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Tuesday with a post on social media.
“Committed,” Greve wrote on a post on X. “Thank you for the opportunity.”
Greve was a pivotal player on both sides for the ball for Regina last fall helping the Regals to a 12-1 record and a Class 1A runner-up finish.
The 6-foot, 165-pound Greve earned first-team Class 1A all-state honors from the Iowa Football Coaches Association last season as a defensive back after leading 1A with eight interceptions.
Greve also ranked second on the team in both receptions (28) and receiving yards (495) last season while adding five touchdown catches.
A three-year starter in the Regina secondary Greve had 74 tackles and 16 interceptions and also had 55 receptions for 880 yards and 11 touchdowns over the past three seasons.
A three-sport standout Greve was a multi-year starter in basketball and helped the Regals to a state semifinal appearance this season and is also a starter on the Regina soccer team that has reached the Class 1A semifinals each of the past three seasons.
Wisconsin-Whitewater went 8-3 last season falling in the second round of the Division III playoffs.
