City High closed out a strong pre-holiday stretch with a road win over Class 4A No. 7 Cedar Rapids Xavier 49-41 on Monday in Cedar Rapids.

Class 5A No. 11 City High improved to 7-2 on the season while Cedar Rapids Xavier dropped to 4-4 with the loss.

Maybes Miller had a team-high 13 points while Eve Vitense added 11 points for the Little Hawks.

Miller and Vitense combined for five second-half three-pointers as City High rallied from a three-point halftime deficit.

Kaitlin Loria had nine points and Tessa Driscoll had eight points for City High.

Madden Wilson had a game-high 14 points to lead Cedar Rapids Xavier and Reese Komenda and Jaselle Lang each had seven points for the Saints.
