Solon Puts Five Players on IPSWA Class 3A All-State Team

Another successful season for Solon has resulted in another sizeable postseason haul for the Spartans.
Solon had five players named to the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association Class 3A all-state teams on Tuesday when the organization released its postseason awards.
Seniors Blake Timmons and Sean Stahle each earned all-state honors for the second consecutive season but at a new position while junior Brett White also earned all-state honors for a second year in a row.
Senior Aiden Doyle and junior Ben Kampman both earned all-state honors for the first time.
Timmons, White and Kampman were all named to the Class 3A first team.
A third-team all-state pick last season as a quarterback Timmons was a first-team pick as a defensive back this season.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Timmons had 20 tackles and led Solon with five interceptions returning one for a touchdown.
Timmons also passed for 929 yards and seven touchdowns and rushed for 764 yards and 15 touchdowns as a quarterback.
White earned first-team honors as a linebacker after leading the Spartans in tackles for the second straight season.
The 6-foot, 210-pound White had a team-high 77 tackles and led Solon with 15 tackles for loss and had 3.5 sacks.
White also rushed for 922 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Kampman earned first-team all-state honors as a defensive lineman after ranking second on the team with 41 tackles from his defensive end spot.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Kampman had a team-high 15 tackles for loss and led the Spartans with seven sacks.
Stahle and Doyle were each named to the 3A second team.
A second-team pick as a running back last season the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Stahle earned second team honors as a defensive back this fall.
Stahle had 15.5 tackles, three interceptions and recovered two fumbles returning one for a touchdown.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Doyle earned second-team all-state honors as an offensive lineman after helping the Spartans average 220 rushing yards and 34 points per game.
