Josie Durr now has the trio of Solon goal scoring records all to herself.

Durr set a new school record for goals in a single season with five goals in a 7-2 win over Maquoketa on Tuesday at Spartan Stadium.

The five goals on Tuesday give Durr a state-best 52 this season, breaking the previous single-season record set by Alison McKinnie in 2011.

Durr broke the school records for goals in a game and career earlier this season both previously held by McKinnie.

The five goals by Durr on Tuesday helped Class 1A No. 11 Solon improve to 9-3 on the season with its third straight win.

Megan Tucker had a goal and an assist and Taylor Ryan added a goal for Solon in the win.

Maquoketa dropped to 3-6 on the season with the loss.

Regina Snaps Skid With Win Over Northeast

Class 1A fifth-ranked Regina snapped a three-match losing skid with a 9-0 win over Northeast (1-7) on Tuesday at Regal Field.

Lauren Gaarde scored four goals and Anna Ziniel had two goals at two assists as Regina improved to 2-5 on the season with its first win since April 20.

Regina lost three straight matches to 3A No. 8 West Des Moines Dowling, 3A No. 10 Ames and St. Francis (Illinois) by a combined score of 9-1.

The Regals bounced back in a big way on Tuesday with five different players recording goals in the win.

Emma Welter had a goal and an assist and Stephanie Stenger and Greyson Dumont each had a goal for Regina.

Kennede Nosbisch had an assist for Regina.

City High Shuts Out Waterloo West

Grace Brown and Sydney Schroder each scored a pair of goals as Class 3A No. 14 City High defeated Waterloo West 4-0 in a Mississippi Valley Conference match on Tuesday in Waterloo.

Brown gave City High a 1-0 lead with a penalty kick goal and Schroder put the Little Hawks up 2-0 with her first goal of the game and third of the season.

Schroder made it 3-0 with a goal off a Sydney DePrenger assist and Brown capped the scoring with her team-leading fifth goal of the year.

City High improved to 6-4 on the season and 4-3 in MVC play while Waterloo West dropped to 2-6 and 2-4 in MVC action.
