Player to watch: Southeast Polk senior running back Stanley Cooper (6-0, 222) has rushed for 731 yards and 14 touchdowns and is averaging 7.8 yards per carry.

Key stat: Southeast Polk leads Class 5A in rushing yards per game at 298.2 and is averaging 7.9 yards per carry.

About the Rams: Southeast Polk joins Ankeny as the lone remaining unbeaten teams in Class 5A improving to 5-0 with a 35-13 win over Ottumwa last Friday.

The Rams are averaging 38.4 points and 394 total yards per game including 298 rushing yards per contest while averaging 7.5 yards per play.

Junior quarterback Boston Bailey (5-10, 185) has completed 34-of-66 passes for 436 yards and one touchdown without an interception and has rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns.

Stanley Cooper leads the Rams in rushing while sophomore Adrian Cooper (6-1, 204) has rushed for 501 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 10.4 yards per carry.

Senior Brennan Swanson (6-0, 170) leads the Rams with 19 receptions for 240 yards while senior Bryan Degen (6-3, 185) has caught seven passes for 133 yards.

The Southeast Polk defense is allowing 18.8 points and 270 total yards per game while giving up 5.3 yards per play.

Southeast Polk has forced eight turnovers in five games and has returned two interceptions for touchdowns.

Cody Winegar (6-0, 185) has a team-high 20 tackles while Owen Oberbroeckling (6-4, 200) has 20 tackles.

Cooper Chebuhar (6-3, 230) has 19.5 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and Joel Yankoon (6-3, 270) has 15.5 tackles with four tackles for loss.

Junior Jack Shields (6-3, 205) has a team-high five tackles for loss among his 13.5 tackles.

About the Little Hawks: City High snapped a two-game losing streak with a 28-10 road win at Norwalk last week and will be making its third trip to the Des Moines area in the past four weeks.

The Little Hawks fell at Waukee Northwest 35-21 in week three and is 1-2 in road games this season with a week-one loss at West High.

City High is averaging 28 points and 397 total yards per game while posting 6.3 yards per play.

Junior quarterback Jackson Grabinski (6-0, 205) has completed 71-of-104 passes while throwing for 878 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions and has rushed for 182 yards and four touchdowns.

Senior Savion Miller (5-10, 200) has rushed for 519 yards and eight touchdowns and has caught 21 passes for 210 yards.

Senior Chayse Newton (5-8, 160) has 27 receptions for 362 yards and two touchdowns and junior Braden Bickford (6-3, 168) has 27 receptions for 416 yards and two touchdowns.

On defense City High is giving up 322 total yards and 24.4 points per game while allowing 6.5 yards per play.

Junior linebacker Marshall Sheldon (6-1, 195) has a team-high 31 tackles with five for loss and senior Shepherd Stanton (6-2, 170) has 17.5 tackles.

Junior Seth Barnett (5-10, 195) has 16.5 tackles with three for loss and junior Lawrence Jones (5-10, 262) has 14.5 tackles with three for loss and two sacks.

Liberty High (3-2) at Davenport Central (3-2)

Where: Brady Street Stadium, 7:15 p.m.

Player to watch: Davenport Central senior quarterback Jaleel Toney Walker (5-10, 170) has completed 70-of-130 passes for 1,004 yards and eight touchdowns with three interceptions and has rushed for a team-leading 229 yards and a touchdown.

Key stat: Liberty High is +4 in turnover margin in its three wins this season and is -4 in turnover margin in its two losses.

About the Blue Devils: After starting the season 3-0 with wins over Dubuque Senior, Clinton and Davenport West the Blue Devils have dropped back-to-back games to Davenport North and Linn-Mar.

Davenport Central is averaging 24.6 points and 329 total yards per game while averaging 6.5 yards per play.

Toney Walker leads the Blue Devil offense while junior Markey Glenn (6-0, 170) has rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns.

Frankie Lewis (5-11, 180) has rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 13.8 yards per carry and has nine receptions for 169 yards and a touchdown.

TK Morrison (6-1, 170) has a team-high 28 receptions for 562 yards and seven touchdowns and Messiah Johnson (5-11, 150) has caught 13 passes for 161 yards.

Davenport Central is allowing 29.2 points and 303 total yards per game on defense while giving up 6.2 yards per play.

The Blue Devils have forced nine turnovers in five games this season and have four different players with an interception.

Senior Beckhim Hutchison (6-0, 195) leads the Blue Devils with 41.5 tackles including nine for loss and senior Jerome Bahahti (5-11, 180) has 41 tackles with 1.5 for loss.

Blesshym Patterson (5-9, 170) has 35 tackles with 2.5 for loss and Dalton Ferris (6-0, 160) has 22 tackles with four for loss and two sacks.

Erick Jones (6-2, 220) has 19 tackles with five for loss and two sacks.

About the Lightning: Liberty High bounced back from a 42-6 loss to Johnston in week four with a 51-17 win over West High last week in which the Lightning produced season-highs in total yards (478) and points (51).

Liberty High is averaging 23.8 points and 347 total yards per game while producing 5.8 yards per play.

Senior quarterback Emerson Berner has completed 89-of-133 passes for 1,029 yards and 11 touchdowns with seven interceptions.

Senior Brody Beaver has rushed for a team-high 272 yards and two touchdowns and Leo Rozz has rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown.

Pryor Reiners has a team-high 37 receptions for 468 yards and five touchdowns and Adrian Clerry has caught 21 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

Cooper Lester has 15 receptions for 232 yards and a touchdown and Beaver has caught 11 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

On defense Liberty High is allowing 243 total yards and 20.2 points per game while holding opponents to 5.4 yards per play.

Liberty High has forced 12 turnovers in five games with Tate Rettig and Clerry each recording two interceptions.

Alex Strunk leads Liberty High with 31.5 tackles including 9.5 for loss with 3.5 sacks and Carter Lester has 27 tackles with six for loss.

Asher Eisenbach has 21.5 tackles with seven for loss and Hank Thompson has 16.5 tackles with 8.5 for loss and four sacks.

West High (2-3) at Muscatine (0-5)  

Where: Muskie Field, 7 p.m.

Last season: West High 69, Muscatine 7

Player to watch: Muscatine junior quarterback Garrick Fillmore (6-4, 170) has completed 66-of-115 passes for 657 yards and five touchdowns with four interceptions and has rushed for a touchdown.

Key stat: West High is averaging 201 rushing yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry and Muscatine is allowing 212 rushing yards per game and 7 yards per carry.

About the Trojans: Following a 2-0 start to the season the Trojans have lost three consecutive games to Pleasant Valley, Bettendorf and Liberty High.

West High is averaging 28 points and 446 total yards per game while averaging 6.4 yards per play.
The Trojans have been balanced, averaging 201 rushing yards and 245 passing yards per game.

Senior quarterback Reece Wheeler (5-11, 170) has completed 94-of-151 passes for 1,212 yards and eight touchdowns with five interceptions and has rushed for 215 yards and five touchdowns.

Junior Atari Brown (5-11, 170) has rushed for a team-high 467 yards and three touchdowns and senior Kingstone Ross (5-10, 195) has rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior Neil James (6-1, 180) has been the top target in the passing game with 28 receptions for 474 yards and four touchdowns.

Cade Towler (5-11, 170) has 19 receptions for 268 yards and three touchdowns, sophomore Tayten Wheeler (6-2, 195) has 23 receptions for 250 yards and Cooper Bruxvoort (6-1, 175) has 14 receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown.

On defense West High is allowing 31.8 points and 394 total yards per game while giving up 7 yards per play.

Khylin Brink (6-0, 210) has a team-high 28.5 tackles with 6.5 for loss and a sack and senior Carter Spark (5-10, 175) has 26.5 tackles with four for loss.

Senior Jack Caylor (5-10, 195) has 25 tackles with 3.5 for loss and Ross has 16 tackles with six tackles for loss and two sacks.

About the Muskies: Muscatine dropped to 0-5 on the season with a 52-14 loss to Pleasant Valley last week and has lost six games in a row dating back to last season.

The Muskies are averaging 14.2 points and 201 total yards per game this season while posting 4 yards per play.

Fillmore leads the Muscatine offense and senior Colin Glynn (6-1, 185) has rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns while junior Emmanuel Glahn (5-8, 185) has rushed for 86 yards and averages 5.7 yards per carry.

Thomas Norton has a team-high 14 receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns and Glynn has caught 11 passes for 126 yards.

James Roberts (6-5, 205) has eight receptions for 143 yards and three touchdowns.

Defensively the Muskies are allowing 40.4 points and 369 total yards per game while giving up 7.1 yards per play.

Glynn has a team-high 22.5 tackles with 6.5 for loss and Jerry Mantan has 22 tackles.

Jayden Saylee (6-0, 170) has 22 tackles with 2.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks and Caleb Gault has 21.5 tackles with 3.5 for loss.

Clear Creek Amana (4-1) at Marion (1-4)

Where: Marion Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

Last season: Clear Creek Amana 35, Marion 13

Player to watch: Marion junior Colton Taylor (5-9, 195) has rushed for 389 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 4.5 yards per carry and has caught four passes for 44 yards.

Key stat: Clear Creek Amana is averaging 160 rushing yards per game and 5.9 yards per carry in its four wins and had 31 yards rushing and averaged 1.3 yards per carry in its lone loss.

About the Clippers: Clear Creek Amana won its second consecutive game following a week-three loss to defending state champion Cedar Rapids Xavier on Friday with a 41-28 win over Grinnell.

The Clippers are averaging 35.6 points and 319 total yards per game while producing 6.6 yards per play.

Junior quarterback Texton Bollers (6-2, 180) has completed 63-of-106 passes for 905 yards and eight touchdowns with one interception and has rushed for 302 yards and three touchdowns.

Senior Ian Kelley (5-8, 195) has rushed for 310 yards and eight touchdowns and has three receptions for 46 yards.

Junior Jonah Drake (5-8, 165) has caught a team-high 23 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns and senior Tay Seals (5-10, 145) has 13 receptions for 249 yards and five touchdowns.

The Clear Creek Amana defense is allowing 17.8 points and 275 total yards per game while holding opponents to 5.3 yards per play.

Junior linebacker Nolan Dao (6-1, 195) has a team-leading 25 tackles with three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Tucker Stockman (5-11, 200) has 22.5 tackles with three for loss and senior defensive end Avery Sorensen (6-4, 226) has 21.5 tackles with four for loss and 2.5 sacks.

About the Wolves: Marion snapped a three-game losing streak to open the season with a 42-14 week-four win over Mason City before falling to Pella 49-0 in its district opener last Friday.

The Wolves are averaging 11.2 points and 193 total yards per game while posting 3.8 yards per play.

Sophomore quarterback Ethan Cole (5-9, 150) has completed 28-of-49 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown with five interceptions and has rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown.

Taylor leads the Wolves in rushing while junior Kaehl Gassmann (5-9, 160) has caught a team-high 19 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown and has rushed for 119 yards.

On defense Marion is allowing 34.6 points and 316 total yards per game while giving up 7.3 yards per play.

Greyson Steffen (6-0, 170) has a team-high 20 tackles while Caleb Proctor (5-9, 165) has 18 tackles with 4.5 for loss.

Elijah Dreyer (6-4, 240) has 17 tackles with 4.5 for loss and a team-best four sacks and Judah Jensema (6-3, 205) has 12 tackles with 3.5 for loss.

Solon (5-0) at Keokuk (1-4)

Where: Calvert Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

Last season: Solon 58, Keokuk 6

Player to watch: Keokuk junior quarterback Jadyn Burton (6-3, 185) has completed 67-of-104 passes for 993 yards and 12 touchdowns with five interceptions and has rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

Key stat: Solon is allowing an average of 8.1 points per game during a 16-game regular season winning streak that dates back to 2024.

About the Spartans: Solon has been among the most dominant teams in the state through five games outscoring opponents by a combined total of 217-29 during a 5-0 start.
The Spartans have held their last four opponents to eight points or less and haven’t given up more than 14 points in a game this season.

Solon has outscored opponents 157-7 in the first half this season and has held four consecutive opponents scoreless in the first half.

About the Chiefs: Keokuk opened the season 0-3 before a week four win over Burlington and is coming off a 55-36 loss at Fort Madison last week.

The Chiefs are averaging 27.8 points and 304 total yards per game while averaging 5.8 yards per play.

Burton leads the Keokuk offense while freshman Jett Hotop (5-7, 160) has rushed for a team-high 214 yards and a touchdown while averaging 4.3 yards per carry.

Three Keokuk receivers have more than 200 yards on the season led by junior Kurt Joy (6-2, 170) who has 27 receptions for 532 yard and seven touchdowns.

Antonio Crockett (5-9, 160) has 19 receptions for 205 yards and three touchdowns and Jalen Clark (6-5, 235) has 15 receptions for 202 yards and two touchdowns.

On defense Keokuk is allowing 20.8 points and 312 total yards per game while giving up 6.8 yards per play.

Bryar Hayner (6-1, 170) leads Keokuk with 33.5 tackles while Joy has 23 tackles with 4.5 for loss and a sack.

Clark has 15 tackles with a team-high 5.5 tackles for loss and Jacob Rogers (5-8, 200) has 14.5 tackles with three for loss.

Tipton (2-3) at West Branch (1-4)

Where: The Little Rose Bowl, 7 p.m.

Last season: West Branch 43, Tipton 16

Player to watch: Tipton senior Oakley Kruse (5-6, 150) has caught 28 passes for 435 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 59 yards and has a team-high 35 tackles with 24 solo stops and leads the Tigers with two interceptions.

Key stat: West Branch has averaged 33.3 points per game in the last eight meetings with Tipton going 8-0 in that stretch dating back to 2008.

About the Bears: West Branch has lost back-to-back games to Monticello and Alburnett to open district play falling to the Pirates 42-14 last Friday at the Little Rose Bowl.

West Branch is averaging 17.8 points and 220 total yards per game while producing 4.9 yards per play.

The Bears have been at their best running the ball, averaging 175 rushing yards per game and 4.9 yards per carry.

Senior Keaton Gates has rushed for a team-high 627 yards and eight touchdown while Motley Johnston has rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Junior quarterback Dillan Schenkel has completed 15-of-44 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns with one interception and has rushed for 73 yards.

Freshman Thomas Pedersen has caught a team-high 14 passes for 195 yard and two touchdowns.

On defense the Bears are allowing 305 yards and 27.4 points per game while giving up 6.4 yards per play.

Gates has a team-high 29.5 tackle with two tackles for loss while Johnston has 26 tackles with three tackles for loss and a sack.

Sophomore Brooks Seydel has 14.5 tackles, an interception and has recovered a fumble for West Branch.

About the Tigers: Tipton opened the season 2-1 with wins over Camanche and Maquoketa but has lost back-to-back games to Alburnett and Anamosa to open district play.

The Tigers are averaging 18.2 points and 269 total yards per game while posting 5.6 yards per play behind senior quarterback Justin Boedeker (5-8, 140).

Boedeker has completed 40-of-79 passes while throwing for 550 yards and four touchdowns with five interceptions and has rushed for 261 yards and a team-leading four touchdowns.

Senior Jackson Timmerman (5-10, 165) has rushed for a team-best 378 yards and two touchdowns while Kruse has been the top target in the passing game.

Senior Brady Woode (6-0, 155) has caught five passes for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Tipton is giving up 27.4 points and 321 total yards per game while allowing 5.9 yards per play.

Senior Caden Schultz (5-4, 135) has 30 tackles with a team-high 4.5 tackles for loss and junior Jereme Kessler (6-3, 200) has 23 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Sigourney-Keota (2-3) at Class 1A No. 1 Regina (5-0) 

Where: Regal Field, 7 p.m.

Last season: Regina 41, Sigourney-Keota 7

Player to watch: Sigourney-Keota junior Blake Baker (6-0, 182) has rushed for 531 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 6.6 yards per carry and leads the Savage Cobras with 27 tackles and has an interception.

Key stat: Sigourney-Keota ranks 12^th in Class 1A averaging 220 rushing yards per game and 5.7 yards per carry while Regina is allowing 31 rushing yards per game while giving up 1.3 yards per carry.

About the Regals: Class 1A top-ranked Regina has outscored opponents 230-31 during a 5-0 start to the season.

Regina is coming off a 48-7 win over Durant on Friday that improved Regina to 2-0 in district play.

The Regals are averaging 46 points and 374 total yards per game while producing 8.4 yards per play.

Junior quarterback Aiden Gaffey (6-3, 170) has completed 32-of-41 passes for 504 yards and eight touchdowns without an interception.

Junior Gabriel Hegelheimer (6-0, 205) has rushed for 546 yards and eight touchdowns and has caught seven passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns.

Tate Wallace (6-4, 240) leads Regina with 14 receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown and junior Holt Hinkel (5-11, 145) has nine receptions for 213 yards and four touchdowns.

Kaleb Moeller (6-0, 170) has nine receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown and Ryan Tracy (6-1, 170) has eight catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

Regina is holding opponents to 6.2 points and 149 total yards per game while allowing just 3.7 yards per play.

Wallace leads Regina with 25 tackles with 14.5 for loss and eight sacks and Roan Eckhoff (6-2, 225) has 18 tackles with 7.5 for loss and three sacks.

Luke Hamilton (5-11, 175) has 12 tackles with four for loss and Zach Poe (6-1, 190) has 8.5 tackles with 2.5 for loss.

About the Savage Cobras: Sigourney-Keota snapped a three-game losing streak with a 64-0 win over Louisa-Muscatine last week.
The Savage Cobras went 1-2 in non-district play with a 14-7 win over 2A PCM and losses to Class 2A Wilton and 2A Mid-Prairie.

Sigourney-Keota is averaging 28 points and 309 total yards per game while posting 6.3 yards per play.

Baker leads the Sigourney-Keota rushing attack while senior quarterback Chase Clarahan (6-2, 195) has completed 21-of-51 passes for 442 yards and four touchdowns with four interceptions and has rushed for 267 yards and five touchdowns.

Senior Ayden Galindo (6-2, 175) has rushed for 97 yards and Carson O’Rourke (5-9, 193) has rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Junior Hunter Sellers (6-6, 186) has a team-high seven receptions for 166 yards and a touchdown and Galindo has caught four passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

On defense Sigourney-Keota is allowing 20.8 points and 312 yards per game while giving up 6.8 yards per play.

O’Rourke has 21 tackles with two sacks and Ryker Van Den Heuvel (6-1, 170) has 19 tackles.

Sellers has 17 tackles with three tackles for loss and two sacks and Graham Moore (6-1, 212) has 11 tackles with a team-high 3.5 tackle for loss and 1.5 sacks.
