Texton Bollers accounted for 339 yards of total offense and two touchdowns to help Clear Creek Amana fend off Grinnell 41-28 in the district opener for both teams on Friday in Tiffin.

Bollers passed for 239 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 100 yards and a score as Clear Creek Amana improved to 4-1 on the season with its second consecutive win.

Ian Kelley rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns and Tay Seals caught a touchdown pass for the Clippers which moved to 1-0 in 4A, District 4 action.

Grinnell dropped to 3-2 and 0-1 in district games.

Kelley scored on touchdown runs of 18, 4 and 1 yards in the first half as Clear Creek Amana built a 21-14 halftime lead.

Grinnell got as close as 21-20 with a touchdown on its opening drive of the third quarter but Bollers hit Seals for a 34-yard scoring strike to push the lead to 28-20 and Aiden Gross hit field goals of 40 and 31 yards to push the Clipper lead back to 34-20.

Bollers added a 30-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter as Clear Creek Amana put the game away.

The junior quarterback completed 14-of-25 passes while throwing for 239 yards and completed passes to seven different players.

Jonah Drake had four receptions for 59 yards, Seals had three grabs for 49 yards and Myles Howell caught three passes for 34 yards for the Clippers.

Nolan Dao had a catch for 31 yards, Kelley had a 27-yard reception and Landon Hoffman caught a 23-yard pass.

Tucker Stockman had a team-high 6.5 tackles with a tackle for loss for Clear Creek Amana and Dao and junior Tyler Seidl each had six tackles.

Brady Hilsman had 4.5 tackles and an interception for Clear Creek Amana.
