In what figures to be a tightly contested WAMAC East Division title race Solon picked up a second huge road win in as many weeks on Tuesday.

Class 3A third-ranked Solon outlasted seventh-ranked Center Point-Urbana 20-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 15-9 in a WAMAC East Division thriller in Center Point.

The win was the second consecutive five-set road divisional win for the Spartans who won at Mount Vernon last Tuesday.

Solon improved to 18-3 on the season and 2-0 in WAMAC East Division play with the win while Center Point-Urbana dropped top 13-6 and 1-1 in WAMAC East Division matches.

CJ Whitford led Solon with 15 kills while Amelia Guinn added 13 kills for the Spartans.

Addison Walter had eight kills and a team-high five blocks for Solon and Makinley Galvan and Hailey Gorham each had seven kills.

Anabelle Boelkins had four ace serves and 13 digs for Solon, Macy Fuller had a team-high 20 digs for the Spartans and Scarlett Ferin had 25 assists.

Ava Hohn had 21 assists and 12 digs and Kalynn Timmons had 14 digs for the Spartans.
