Clear Creek Amana used a strong second half to pull away from Davenport North on its way to a 38-17 win over the Wildcats on Friday at Clipper Field in Tiffin.

Ian Kelley ran for 76 yards and two second-half touchdowns as Clear Creek Amana scored touchdowns on three of its four second-half possessions while improving to 2-0.

Davenport North dropped to 1-1.

Clear Creek Amana trailed 9-7 early in the second quarter when junior Jonah Drake returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to give the Clippers a 14-9 lead.

Aiden Gross tacked on a 39-yard field goal to give Clear Creek Amana a 17-9 halftime advantage.

Clear Creek Amana opened the second half with a nine-play, 58-yard touchdown drive capped by a 7-yard touchdown run by Kelley.

Davenport North got as close 24-17 but the Clippers slammed the door with fourth-quarter touchdown drives of 55 and 46 yards.

Kelley gave the Clippers a 31-17 lead with a 15-yard touchdown run and Cal Robertson capped the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown run.

Junior quarterback Texton Bollers completed 11-of-21 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for 33 yards as Clear Creek Amana finished with 286 yards of total offense.

Tay Seals caught two passes for 52 yards including a 42-yard touchdown grab and Noah Evans had three receptions for 36 yards and added an interception.

Nolan Dao caught three passes for 32 yards and had five tackles including four solo stops.

Tucker Stockman led Clear Creek Amana with 7.5 tackles including a tackle for loss and Kelley had 4.5 tackles and a tackle for loss.

Brody Schrock had six tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss and Luke Shounick had 3.5 tackles with a tackle for loss.
