City High opened the season with a 25-8, 25-4, 25-13 sweep of Cedar Rapids Washington in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division match in Cedar Rapids.

Hattie Galloway had 13 kills and Kaitlin Loria added seven kills as City High hammered 32 kills as a team.

Hazel Schuckebier had seven ace serves, three kills and 26 assists for the Little Hawks and Rainie Pfohl added four kills a block and an ace serve.

Maeve Obermueller had three ace serves and Audrey Howe had a team-high eight digs for City High.
