Liberty High and City High both had their seasons conclude on Saturday after advancing to the 5A regional semifinals.

On Wednesday both teams had individuals earn postseason accolades.

City High and Liberty High each had seven players named to the Mississippi Valley Conference all-division teams when the league released its postseason honors.

Liberty High had a pair of first-team selections in the MVC Mississippi Division highlighted by senior outfielder Kelsey Kaut who was a unanimous first team pick.

Kaut led the Lightning with a .468 batting average, ranked second on the team with 33 runs scored and drove in 18 runs on her way to earning first team honors.

Senior Ava Tague was a first-team pick as an infielder after hitting .429 with a team-high 19 extra-base hits including five home runs while driving in 28 runs in 34 games.

Sophomores Ellie Tague, Aubrey Robertson and Alice Freemole were all named to the Mississippi Division second team.

Tague was 12-9 with a 3.10 ERA and 1.35 WHIP while striking out 121 in a team-leading 122 innings.

Freemole was a second team selection as an infielder after hitting .377 with 29 runs scored and 29 RBI and Robertson was a second team pick at catcher after hitting .342 with 13 extra-base hits and a team-high 32 RBI.

Senior Kinley Jones and sophomore Kenna Jenn each earned honorable mention honors for the Lightning.

West High juniors Keeley Hall and Aarianna Shaw were both honorable mention picks in the Mississippi Division.

City High had seven players earn all-division honors in the Valley Division led by senior catcher Molly Carlson and sophomore shortstop Eve Vitense who were both first team picks.

Carlson batted .500 with 18 extra-base hits, five home runs, 33 RBI and 32 walks while posting a .629 on-base percentage and 1.415 OPS.

Vitense hit .393 with eight home runs, 36 runs scored and 38 RBI.

Juniors Maeve Obermueller and Eliza Mitchell and sophomore Iyana Merino were all named to the Valley Division second team.

Obermueller batted .390 with 15 extra-base hits and 30 RBI and led City High with 36 runs scored.

Merino hit .373 with 23 extra-base hits, eight home runs and had a team-high 45 RBI while Mitchell batted .303 with 15 extra-base hits, 32 runs scored and 24 RBI.

Junior Quinn Brende and sophomore Vivienne Heller were both honorable mention all-Valley Division picks for the Little Hawks.
