Ainsley Wilson posted a second consecutive top-three finish at the Class 4A state golf meet as the West High sophomore finished third on Friday at Waverly Municipal Golf Course in Waverly.

Wilson followed up a runner-up finish last season as a freshman by recording a third-place finish on Friday with a 36-hole total of 141.

After opening with a two-over-par 72 on Thursday Wilson shot a one-under-par 69 on Friday.

Wilson shot a 34 on the opening nine holes on Friday and closed with a 35 on the back nine.

Pleasant Valley’s Camille Wood shot a five-under 65 on Friday to finish with a 137 and won the 4A state title in a playoff over Kylie Wachtl of Cedar Rapids Prairie.

Pleasant Valley had four golfers finish in the top 11 and cruised to the team title with a 36-hole score of 587 after shooting a 284 on Friday.

Waukee Northwest was runner-up with a 627 and Cedar Rapids Washington and Southeast Polk each shot a 661.
