Regina Senior Holden Named RVC Boys Soccer Player of the Year

It has already been an impressive season for the Regina boys soccer team.
The top-ranked Regals enter 1A postseason play unbeaten at 16-0-1 with 10 shutouts and a perfect 9-0 record in River Valley Conference play.
On Wednesday the Regals began to reap the rewards for their stellar regular season.
Regina had seven players named to the River Valley Conference all-conference team and head coach Rick Larew was named coach of the year when the league released its postseason honors.
Senior Laird Holden highlighted a trio of Regals named to the RVC first team earning player of the year honors.
Holden ranks fifth in the state and second in Class 1A with 31 goals this season and ranks fourth in Class 1A with 17 assists.
Seniors Drew Greve and Evan White joined Holden as RVC first team selections.
White ranks fifth in 1A with 22 goals and is tied for fourth in 1A with 17 assists.
Greve has eight goals and five assists this season.
Senior Ethan Beard, junior Kevyn Dominguez and sophomore Connor Hoffman were all second team selections for Regina.
Hoffman ranks third on the team in goals (8) and fourth in assists (11) and Dominguez has six goals and 11 assists.
Beard has five goals and ranks second on the team with 14 assists.
Sophomore Evan Greve earned honorable mention honors for Regina.
West Branch had four players earned all-RVC honors led by senior Reese Gingerich and junior keeper Robby Boaz who were both first team selections.
Gingerich led the Bears with 13 goals and five assists in 16 matches and Boaz allowed 32 goals while making 205 saves in goal.
Senior Julian Weckmann was named to the RVC second team for West Branch while senior Oliver Trepanier earned honorable mention status.
