Regina Rolls Past Northeast in Class 1A Playoff Opener

Regina was clicking on all cylinders in its postseason opener on Friday.
Third-ranked Regina scored 35 first-quarter points and racked up 434 yards of total offense in a 69-0 shutout of Northeast in a Class 1A opening round contest at Regal Field in Iowa City.
Regina improved to 9-0 with the win and advanced to the second round of the Class 1A playoffs.
The pairings for the second and third rounds will be released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Northeast closed the season 3-6.
Regina senior quarterback Kyle Tracy completed all six of his pass attempts while throwing for 145 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown as Regina averaged 22.8 yards per offensive snap.
Tracy had touchdown passes to Savion Miller, Drew Greve and Carter Slager and the Regals rushed for 284 yards on 13 carries in the win.
Miller rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on four carries and Paul Weiner ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Regina run game.
Gabriel Hegelheimer had a 51-yard touchdown run and Aaron Honore rushed for 49 yards.
Five different players had an interception for Regina as the Regals forced six turnovers while posting their second consecutive shutout.
Luke Hamilton had a team-high seven tackles including a sack and Weiner had two tackles for loss and a sack.
Honore, Greve, Trey Streb, Zachary Poe and Gabe Schuessler all had interceptions for Regina.
