Girls Cross Country Roundup: Svalstad, Solon Finish Runner-up at WAMAC Conference Meet

Solon had five runners finish in the top 25 on its way to a runner-up team finish at the WAMAC Conference meet on Thursday at Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids.
Falyn Svalstad finished runner-up to highlight a pack of five Spartans in the top-25 as Solon finished runner-up to team champion Mount Vernon-Lisbon with 82 points.
Williamsburg was third with 85 followed by Center Point-Urbana with 92 and Marion with 127.
Clear Creek Amana was seventh with 159.
Svalstad was runner-up to individual champion Evelyn Moeller of Mount Vernon-Lisbon in a time of 19:04.5.
Sophomore Liv Nelson placed 15th for Solon in a time of 20:38.7 and freshman Mailee Schmidt was 20th in 21:02.7.
Addison Seamans was 23rd in 21:20.1 and Quinn Armentrout was 25th in 21:23.2 for the Spartans.
Clear Creek Amana sophomore Ali Seidl placed sixth in a time of 19:39 to lead the Clippers.
Kadence Whitmer was 36th in 22:06, Alyssa Shounick placed 37th in 22:17.4 and Keira Rosenberg was 38th in 22:19.1 for Clear Creek Amana.
