Class 3A sixth-ranked Solon finished sixth in a strong field at the 20-team Gilbert Invite on Thursday at the Iowa State Cross Country Course in Ames.

Top-ranked Pella won the team title with 49 points followed by third-ranked Des Moines Christian with 76 points and fourth-ranked Sioux Center with 94 points.

Fifth-ranked Winterset was fourth with 196, No. 16 Boone was fifth with 203 points and Solon was sixth with 218.

Clear Creek Amana finished 14^th with 298 points.

Falyn Svalstad placed 20^th in a time of 19:51.45 to lead Solon while freshman Mailee Schmidt finished 40^th in a time of 20:35.37.

Addison Seamans was 45^th in 20:52.13 and Liv Nelson was 47^th in 20:56.29 for the Spartans.

Clear Creek Amana freshman Alison Seidl posted a top-15 individual performance in the strong field finishing 11^th in a time of 19:10.48.

Holley Schulte finished 39^th in 20:29.35 for the Clippers and Kadence Whitmer was 73^rd in 21:58.26.
