One of the best back row players in the state has made a decision on her volleyball future.
Liberty High junior libero Edie Miller announced her commitment to Dayton on Monday with a post on social media.
“I am so excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and volleyball career at the University of Dayton,” Miller wrote in a post on social media. “A huge thank you to my family who has given me constant support throughout this process and to my coaches Jay Van Vark, David Rodgers and Scott Sanders who have pushed me to be my best and believed in me from the very beginning. A special thank you to my twin sister Hadley who has been there by my side through everything.”
The Class 5A digs leader each of the past two seasons, Miller has racked up 1,153 career digs during her first two prep seasons while earning all-state honors each year.
Last fall Miller earned first-team all-division honors from the Mississippi Valley Conference and third-team Class 5A all-state honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches association for the second straight season after leading 5A with 550 digs and 6.1 digs per set.
The 5-foot-6 Miller increased her production from a season ago when she led 5A with 5.4 digs per set.
As a sophomore Miller also had a team-high 32 ace serves while helping Liberty High to a 15-21 record, a top-15 ranking and a spot in a 5A regional title game.
