Girls Basketball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Leans On Defense To Stay Unbeaten

Clear Creek Amana continues to cruise through the season and this week the Clippers did most of their damage with defense.
Class 4A second-ranked Clear Creek Amana held a third consecutive foe under 30 points on Saturday, defeating Indianola 61-29 in a non-conference contest in Indianola.
Clear Creek Amana improved to 13-0 on the season with its third win in five days while Indianola had a two-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 4-10 on the season.
In wins over South Tama, Williamsburg and Indianola this week the Clippers allowed a total of 74 points, an average of 24.7 per game, and gave up more than nine points in a quarter just once.
Averie Lower poured in a game-high 17 points to lead Clear Creek Amana while Sam Schrage added 11 points for the Clippers.
Bliss Beck had nine points, Ava Locklear had eight points and Lena Evans had seven points for Clear Creek Amana.
Zoey Belt led Indianola with 11 points.
