Another year, another top-three state meet finish for Bella Pettersen.

The Liberty High sophomore posted her second consecutive third-place finish at the Class 4A state golf meet on Friday shooting a seven-over-par 149 over the 36-hole, two-day event at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.

Pettersen finished with a two-day total of 149, six strokes off the pace of Shannyn Vogler of Bettendorf and Amber Henson of Marshalltown.

Vogler defeated Henson in a playoff to win her second consecutive 4A individual crown.

After an opening-round 77 on Thursday Pettersen closed the tournament with a one-over-par 72 on Friday.

Pettersen shot a 36 on both the front and back nine on Friday while carding a 72.

With the 72 on Friday Pettersen finished two strokes in front of Hallie Yates from West Des Moines Valley who was one of three golfers to shoot 154.

West High senior Leigha Pacha closed with an 85 on Friday after an opening-round 87 on Thursday to finish in a tie for 25^th.

West Des Moines Valley shot a 312 on Friday breaking an opening-round tie with Pleasant Valley and winning the 4A team title with a 637.

Pleasant Valley was runner-up with a 656 while Marshalltown was third with a 665.
