Clear Creek Amana Secures Share of Third Straight WAMAC Title With Win at No. 12 Benton Community

Clear Creek Amana has done it again.
For the third consecutive season the Clippers claimed at least a share of a WAMAC Conference title forcing a three-way tie atop the West Division standings with a 40-35 win at Class 4A No. 12 Benton Community on Tuesday.
Class 4A No. 15 Clear Creek Amana closed the regular season 15-6 with the win and 13-5 in WAMAC contests finishing in a tie with Benton Community and Center Point-Urbana at 9-3 in West Division games.
Over the past three seasons Clear Creek Amana is 51-16 overall and 43-12 in WAMAC Conference games.
On Tuesday the Clippers got 19 points from sophomore Ava Locklear and held the Bobcats to their second lowest scoring output of the season and fewest points since a 60-27 loss to Dallas Center-Grimes on December 4.
The loss snapped a 10-game winning streak for Benton Community (17-4, 14-3) and was the first home loss of the season for the Bobcats who hadn’t lost a game since a 45-42 setback to Clear Creek Amana in Tiffin on January 4.
Olivia Miller added 10 points while Bliss Beck chipped in with five for Clear Creek Amana.
Jenna Twedt led all scorers with 21 points for Benton Community while McKenna Kramer and Zoey Junge each had six for the Bobcats.
