Clear Creek Amana Junior Boeset Named WAMAC West Division Player of the Year

Clear Creek Amana junior Beckett Boeset enjoyed a breakthrough season while leading the Clippers to a third consecutive WAMAC West Division title.
On Tuesday Boeset was recognized for his season with the league’s highest honor.
Boeset was named WAMAC West Division player of the year on Tuesday to highlight a group of six Clippers that earned all-division honors when the conference announced its postseason awards.
Junior Myles Howell and sophomore Carson Meskimen joined Boeset as unanimous first-team selections in the WAMAC West Division while junior Alex DuBay was named to the West Division second team.
In his first season as a full-time starter Boeset flourished, leading the WAMAC West Division in points and steals per game and ranking fourth in rebounds and third in assists.
Boeset averaged 19.3 points per game, third highest among all WAMAC players, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
The 6-foot-3 Boeset shot 48 percent from the floor, including 41 percent from 3-point range and 78 perfect from the free throw line.
Meskimen was a unanimous first-team West Division selection in his varsity debut season after averaging 14 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
The sophomore guard shot 33 percent from 3-point range and led the West Division with 2.2 made 3-pointers per game.
Howell was also a unanimous first-team all-West Division pick after averaging 12.8 points and 6 rebounds per game while shooting 56 percent from the field including 33 percent from 3-point range.
DuBay was named to the West Division second team after averaging 7.7 points and ranking second on the team with 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent from the floor.
Senior Kayden Howe and sophomore Noah Evans were each honorable mention selections in the West Division.
