Ben Swails has a playoff football game coming up and a basketball season and track and another full season of high school baseball.
Before Swails focuses on any of that the Clear Creek Amana multi-sport senior made a decision for his days after high school.
Swails announced his commitment to play baseball at Iowa Western Community College this week with a post on social media.
“I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and baseball career at Iowa Western CC,” Swails wrote on Twitter. “Huge thanks to my friends, family, teammates and coaches who have helped me get to this point.”
A two-year starter as an infielder for the Clippers, Swails missed nearly his entire junior season with an injury.
Swails hit .327 with 31 runs scored and 18 RBI as a freshman and upped his average to .368 and had a team-high 23 RBI as a sophomore in 2020.
The starting quarterback for Clear Creek Amana, Swails ranks fourth in Class 4A with 1,576 passing yards this season and has thrown 17 touchdown passes.
