Clear Creek Amana snapped a six-year state tournament drought earlier this month qualifying for the state softball tournament for the first time since 2014.
On Wednesday a couple of Clippers that played a huge role in that return to Fort Dodge earned some big-time individual honors.
Senior shortstop Gabrielle Bedford and sophomore pitcher Ashley Webb each earned second-team Class 4A all-state honors when the Iowa Girls Coaches Association released its all-state teams on Wednesday.
Webb and Bedford each played huge roles in helping Clear Creek Amana to a 30-10 record and a spot at the 4A state tournament.
Bedford had the game-winning hit in a 11-10 come-from-behind 11-inning regional final win over Marion on her way to a huge senior season.
The senior shortstop hit .411 with a team-high 19 extra-base hits, six home runs and 40 RBI.
Bedford also led the Clippers in doubles (12) and slugging percentage (.710) and stole 17 bases and scored 29 runs.
Webb ranked third in 4A with 19 wins and was tied for fourth best in 4A with a 1.54 ERA during a breakthrough sophomore season.
The left-hander ranked fourth in 4A with 181 2/3 innings pitched and was tops in 4A with a .80 WHIP while striking out 199 and allowing just 123 hits.
