Softball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Pushes Win Streak to Four With Sweep of Independence

Clear Creek Amana pushed its winning streak to four and opened its home schedule in style on Thursday sweeping Independence in a WAMAC doubleheader in Oxford
The Clippers won the opener 7-0 and took the nightcap 11-1 in five innings to improve to 4-2 on the season and 4-2 in WAMAC play while Independence dropped to 0-9.
Clear Creek Amana staked starter Ashley Webb to an early lead in the opening with a three-run first inning and Webb took care of the rest.
Webb tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out a career-high 14 and walking just one in the game one win.
Gabrielle Bedford had a hit and drove in three runs while Ella Miller and Olivia Miller each had a hit and drove in a run.
Bailey Olerich had a hit and scored run and Reece Stockman walked and scored a run.
Bliss Beck and Webb combined on a no-hitter in the nightcap.
Beck allowed an unearned run while striking out four and walking six in two no-hit innings while Webb fanned four and walked one in three hitless innings of relief.
Bedford went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run and drove in three runs and scored twice.
Olivia Miller was 2-for-2 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored and Katelyn LeFleur was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Bailey Olerich was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored while Emma Mathis went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Ella Crow homered and drove in two for the Clippers.
