Girls Soccer Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Cruises in Return to Action in Regional Semifinal

A long layoff didn’t lead to any rust for the Clear Creek Amana girls soccer team.
In its first game action in more than two weeks the Clippers scored six first-half goals and cruised to an 8-0 win over Fairfield (3-12) in a Class 2A, Region 5 semifinal on Wednesday in Tiffin.
Ninth-ranked Clear Creek Amana improved to 15-2 with the win and will travel to seventh-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes (12-5) for the Region 5 title game on Friday at 6 p.m.
Dallas Center-Grimes defeated No. 12 Pella 4-0 on Wednesday in the other regional semifinal.
Playing for the first time in 15 days Clear Creek Amana got its offense going early.
Lauren Riggle and Eliza Evans each scored three goals as the Clippers moved to within one win of the state tournament.
Madalyn Gassman and Hannah Wilkerson each added goals for Clear Creek Amana and the Clippers posted their seventh shutout of the season.
