Boys Soccer Roundup: Withrow’s Goal Leads Clear Creek Amana Past Williamsburg in Overtime

Clear Creek Amana needed a few extra minutes to do it but the Clippers got back in the win column on Monday.
Class 2A No. 16 Clear Creek Amana bounced back from a 1-0 loss to fourth-ranked Vinton-Shellsburg on Thursday with a 2-1 overtime victory over Williamsburg on Monday in a WAMAC West Division match in Tiffin.
Christian Withrow scored the game-winning goal three minutes into overtime off a West Quinlan assist as Clear Creek Amana improved to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in WAMAC play.
Williamsburg dropped to 2-3 on the year and 1-3 in conference matches.
Clear Creek Amana took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Gunther Sandersfeld opened the scoring with a goal off a Harrison Cory assist.
Williamsburg tied the score in the second half sending the game to overtime where Withrow provided the winner with his team-leading fifth goal of the season.
