The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Chandler Haight
West High graduate Chandler Haight, a junior at Drake, finished second in the shot put at the Blue Oval Invitational on Saturday at Drake Stadium.
Haight was runner-up in the shot put with a career-best throw of 45-10/5 which ranks third all-time in program history and also added a fourth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 138-2.
Rylee Fay
Liberty High graduate Rylee Fay had 34 assists and 18 digs to help Missouri State to a weekend sweep of Indiana State in a MVC volleyball series in Terre Haute, Indiana.
A freshman setter, Fay had 20 assists and 15 digs in a five-set Missouri State win on Saturday and added 14 assists and three digs in a three-set sweep on Sunday.
On the season Fay has 62 assists and 32 digs while helping the Bears to a 15-6 record.
Kobey Schlotman
Clear Creek Amana graduate Kobey Schlotman pitched 5 1/3 strong innings on Saturday to help Mount Mercy to a 4-3 win over Graceland.
A junior left hander for the Mustangs, Schlotman allowed three runs on six hits while striking out eight in 5 1/3 as Mount Mercy completed a four-game sweep of Graceland to improve to 19-7 on the season.
Schlotman is 3-2 with a 3.53 ERA in six starts and leads the Mustangs in both strikeouts (36) and innings pitched (35.2).
