Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Karsyn Stratton
Former Clear Creek Amana all-stater Karsyn Stratton averaged 17.5 points in her first two collegiate games helping Kirkwood Community College to a pair of wins last week.
Stratton had 20 points in her college debut in a win over Des Moines Area Community College and had 15 points and five rebounds in a victory over Northeast Community College.
The 5-foot-9 freshman guard was a combined 14-of-20 from the floor in the two games.
Cailyn Morgan
West High graduate Cailyn Morgan, a sophomore guard at the University of Northern Iowa, had a season-high seven points on Saturday in a win over Indiana State.
The 5-foot-10 Morgan was 2-of-2 from 3-point range and had a rebound and an assist in the win as the Panthers improved to 8-7 on the season.
Morgan has played in all 15 games this season, making two starts and averaging nearly 12 minutes per game.
Izaya Ono-Fullard
West High graduate and Iowa junior infield Izaya Fullard was tabbed as a preseason All-Big Ten selection by Perfect game last week.
Fullard hit .400 and led Iowa with 21 RBI and 19 runs scored in a shortened 2020 season ranking in the top 15 in the Big Ten in seven different statistical categories.
A career .328 with the Hawkeyes, Fullard led Big Ten in RBI was second in runs and tied for fifth in batting average last season.
