Clear Creek Amana started the season by going 3-1 at its own tournament on Saturday.

The Clippers were equally impressive in their WAMAC West Division opener on Thursday.

Class 4A ninth-ranked Clear Creek Amana swept South Tama 25-20, 25-18, 25-12 in the conference opener for both teams in Tama.

The Clippers improved to 4-1 on the season while South Tama dropped to 3-3.

Calia Clubb had 10 kills and Hailey Pollock added nine to lead Clear Creek Amana.

Grace Bedford had 14 assists and Kenadi Wood had 12 while Meg Berklan had 12 digs and Clubb added 11.
