After four consecutive close losses to open the season Clear Creek Amana finally finished the deal on Tuesday.
The Clippers built an eight-point halftime lead and held off Vinton-Shellsburg for a 60-50 win in a WAMAC West Division matchup in Vinton.
Darius Moore had a team-high 22 points as Clear Creek Amana improved to 1-4 on the season and 1-2 in WAMAC West Division play.
Tyler Schrepfer had 16 points and Jordan Wolfe added eight for the Clippers while TJ Bollers collected seven rebounds.
Justin Bartz had a game-high 26 points and eight rebounds for Vinton-Shellsburg (0-5).

Eighth-Ranked Cascade Downs West Branch
Class 2A eighth-ranked Cascade remained perfect on the season with a 66-51 win over West Branch on Tuesday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in West Branch.
West Branch dropped to 2-3 and 1-3 in RVC play with the loss while Cascade improved to 6-0 on the season and 5-0 in RVC games.
Beau Cornwell had 22 points and Tanner Lukavsky added 13 for West Branch.
