State Tournament Qualifiers City High and West High Lead Area MVC All-Area Soccer Picks

West High and City High each reached the Class 4A state soccer tournament last week.
On Monday both teams earned some individual accolades for their team success this season.
West High had 10 players honored by the Mississippi Valley Conference and City High had eight players earn MVC recognition when the league released its postseason honors.
Liberty High had eight players earn all-division honors.
West High had four players named to the Mississippi Division first team and junior keeper Tito Lessa was named Mississippi Division keeper of the year to highlight the honors for the Trojans.
Lessa allowed 15 goals and had 44 saves with a 74.6 percent save percentage.
Senior Jack Eastvold and juniors Elias Ortiz, Owen Hughes and Caleb Hynek were all named to the Mississippi Division first team for West High.
Ortiz led West High with eight goals and seven assists while Hynek ranked second on the team with five goals and added an assist.
Eastvold had a goal and Hughes had three goals and two assists to help West High to a 9-6-2 record.
Seniors Zeid Alwahdani, Adam Salem and Tiago Gonzalez were all second team picks in the Mississippi Division.
Alwahdani had a goal, Salem had four goals and assist and Gonzalez ranked second on the team with five goals and had an assist for West High.
Seniors Asif Ali and Andres Sanchez each earned honorable mention status in the Mississippi Division for West High.
Senior Oscar Gates and juniors Taylor Salinas-Basquedano and Seth Zeithamel led the all-division picks for City High landing on the Valley Division first team.
Gates had a team-high nine goals and assist and Salinas ranked second on the team with six goals while leading the Little Hawks with four assists.
Zeithamel had two goals for City High.
Seniors Olli Witt and Jayden Le were each named to the Valley Division second team.
Le had a goal and Witt had three goals for City High.
City High seniors Ahmed Musa and Antoine Mwanza were both honorable mention picks in the Valley Division.
Liberty High had a trio of first team all-division picks among its eight honorees.
Senior Collin Weis and juniors Sam Lieu and Benjamin Johnson were all named to the Mississippi Division first team.
Weis tied for the team lead with eight goals and had two assists while Lieu had a goal and three assists.
Johnson had six goals and three assists for the Lightning.
Senior Finn O’Toole junior Tayson Cho and sophomore Victor Lira were all second team all-Mississippi Division selections.
O’Toole tied for the team lead with eight goals and three assists and Lira had five goals and three assists.
Juniors Cash Hennings and Andrew Strathman were both honorable mention honorees in the Mississippi Division for Liberty High.
