Boys Cross Country Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Wins Team Title at Independence Invitational

Clear Creek Amana had all seven runners finish in the top 16 including three in the top 10 while claiming the team title at the Independence Invitational on Thursday at the MHI Cross Country Course in Independence.
Carson Meskimen finished runner-up, Nic Schieltz was seventh and Jackson VanHorn was 10th as the Clippers finished with 44 points, 14 in front of runner-up Denver.
Solon was third with 99 followed by Cedar Rapids Xavier with 108 and Wavery-Shell Rock with 121.
Meskimen finished runner-up in a time of 16:24.45 behind individual champion Jesse Gomez of Denver who won in 16:21.66.
Schieltz finished seventh in a time of 17:23.26 while VanHorn was 10th in 17:33.5.
Caden Burkle placed 12th in 17:47.1, Mason Miller was 13th in 17:48.79 and Micah Johnson placed 15th in 17:53.88.
Solon was led by Anders Holmes who finished sixth in a time of 17:21.3 and Preston Raasch who was 14th in 17:50.55.
Deacon Waddell finished 19th in 18:09.41 and Brooks Kabela was 20th in 18:13.66.
