Clear Creek Amana Clobbers Davenport North For Second Consecutive Win

Clear Creek Amana followed up a week-one shutout of Davenport West with an equally dominant road win in week two.
Conlan Poynton accounted for five touchdowns as Clear Creek Amana rolled to a 51-6 win over Davenport North (1-1) on Friday at Brady Street Stadium in Davenport.
Poynton passed for 165 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 60 yards and three scores as the Clippers started the season 2-0 for the first time since 2018.
Clear Creek Amana rolled up 323 yards of total offense on Friday and has outscored opponents 114-6 in its back-to-back wins to open the season.
Poynton tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Aren Schlemme who had three receptions for 50 yards and finished 15-of-23 passing.
Tay Seals had a team-leading seven receptions for 80 yards and Poynton led three different Clippers with at least 30 yards rushing.
Sophomore Texton Bollers rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown and Ethan Vice added 33 rushing yards.
Clear Creek Amana has now won six consecutive regular season road games dating back to 2023.
The Clipper defense was impressive for the second consecutive week.
Aidan Schrock had a team-high 7.5 tackles and returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown.
Ian Kelley had 7.5 tackles including a tackle for loss and Joe Vaske had a sack and recovered a fumble.
Clear Creek Amana travels to Cedar Rapids Xavier (2-0) on Friday for a 7:15 p.m. kickoff.
