Solon finished third and Clear Creek Amana was fourth at the eight-team Mount Vernon Relays on Thursday in Mount Vernon.

Solon got an individual title from Grace Hoeper and won two relays while finishing third in the team standings with 94.5 points.

Clear Creek Amana was fourth with 71 points followed by Benton Community with 68 and West Branch with 42.5.

Hoeper won the 400 in a time of 1:03.41 to lead Solon and the Spartans added titles in the shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:11.09 and added a win in the 4×400 relay in 4:10.14.

Solon got runner-up finishes from Sophia Miles (4-10) in the high jump and Kate Shafer in the discus (117-0).

Clear Creek Amana finished runner-up in the sprint medley and 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays while placing fourth as a team.

West Branch sophomore Grace Hamann won the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:07.61 and added a runner-up finish in the 800 in 2:21.98.

Alyssa Pierce was runner-up in the shot put for West Branch with a toss of 38-7.
