Solon senior Brett White ended an incredible prep career last month with a resume rarely seen by a high school hitter.

On Thursday White added yet another accolade to his list of career achievements.

White was named to the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State ‘Super Team’ for the second consecutive season when the organization released its postseason awards.

A Baylor recruit, White was a utility pick on the ‘Super Team’ that features 16 players from all classes after a senior season in which he ranked in the top 10 in the state in home runs (13), runs (57), total bases (101) and walks (38).

A five-year starter, White was a four-time all-state pick earning second-team honors as a freshman and first team Class 3A honors as a sophomore before landing on the ‘Super Team’ each of the past two seasons.

White started all 188 games of his prep career posting a career .402 batting average with 239 runs and 189 RBI.

He finished his career with 29 home runs among 107 extra-base hits, was walked 135 times hit by pitch 61 times and stole 114 bases.

As a senior White batted .398 with 27 extra-base hits and 42 RBI while posting a .560 on-base and .856 slugging percentage to go with 24 stolen bases.

White was one of three Solon players to earn all-state honors.

Senior Vince Steinbrech was a Class 3A second-team pick as a pitcher and senior Gehrig Turner was named to the 3A second team as a catcher.

Steinbrech went 8-0 with a 2.48 ERA and 1.25 WHIP and struck out 55 in 53 2/3 innings.

Turner, who also received the IHSBCA Lanny Peterson “All-Academic” Award, hit .328 with 12 doubles and 28 RBI for the Spartans.

Clear Creek Amana had three players earn all-state honors in Class 3A highlighted by first-team selections Maclane Morgan and Ty Fuller.

Morgan was the 3A first-team pick at second base after a junior season in which he hit .445 with 52 runs scored, 15 extra-base hits and 31 RBI.

Fuller was the first-team selection at shortstop on the 3A team after batting .445 with 40 runs scored, 17 doubles, and 30 RBI.

Junior Kaden Phan was a second-team selection at outfield in Class 3A after batting .376 with 25 extra-base hits including six home runs, 44 RBI and 21 walks.

City High junior Jaxton Schroeder and Liberty High junior Mason Waterbury were each first-team selections in Class 4A.

Schroeder led City High in batting average (.379), hits (39), runs (29), doubles (11), home runs (2), extra-base hits (16), walks (26), stolen bases (35), on-base percentage (.508), slugging percentage (.602) and also went 7-1 with a 1.69 ERA and .85 WHIP while striking out 54 in 45 2/3 innings.

Waterbury had one of the best seasons for any pitcher in the state.

The left-hander posted a perfect 10-0 record, allowing just three earned runs in 61 innings and ranked second in 4A in wins and ERA (.79) and third in WHIP (.79).

Waterbury struck out 68 and walked just 15 in 61 innings.

Regina junior Alex Paul was a third-team all-state pick in Class 2A as an outfielder.

Paul batted .327 with 42 runs scored, nine extra-base hits and 13 RBI and led Regina with 25 stolen bases.
