Solon junior Isaiah Zoske put himself in the thick of the state title hunt with an impressive four-under-par round on Monday at the Class 3A state golf meet.
Zoske was hoping for a shot to move from second to the top of the 3A leaderboard on Tuesday but mother nature had other plans.
Thunderstorms caused the cancellation of the second day of the Class 3A state meet on Tuesday leaving Zoske as the 3A runner-up in a weather-shorted one-day meet at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames.
Zoske finished two strokes back of individual champion Easton Korell of ADM who fired a six-under 66 on Monday to lead ADM to the team title with a 304.
It was the third consecutive top-10 finish for Zoske at the state meet
Zoske finished tied for 10th two seasons ago as a freshman and was eighth last season as a sophomore.
