Liberty High picked up its second impressive home win of the week on Friday downing cross-town rival West High 54-53 in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-division contest on Friday in North Liberty.

The win came after a victory over Class 3A sixth-ranked Dubuque Wahlert on Tuesday and improved Liberty High to 8-7 on the season.

West High dropped to 9-9 with the loss.

Kennedy Goodheart led Liberty High with 11 points and grabbed five rebounds and Natalie Ramsey had nine points and nine rebounds for the Lightning.

Madeline Casey had nine points and Bella Tafolla had nine points and three assists for Liberty High.

Janessa Mosley had eight points and Haley Schroeder had six points and four rebounds.
